Below is the article that has found its way into many newspapers:
Get ready to be entertained with family humor, mystifying magic
and extraordinary illusions presented by the hottest twin illusionists "Steven and Michael - The Mirror Images".
Thanks to the Lakeview High School Band
and Orchestra Booster (BOB), Steven and Michael will be featuring their
show, Extending Reality, as a fund raiser for the BOB on Saturday, March 17th, 2007, at 3
PM and 7 PM in the Lakeview Middle
School Auditorium, 300 S. 28th
Street, in Battle
Creek. Proceeds go towards the BOB organization.
This year the Lakeview High School (LHS) Band and Orchestra
Booster is headed by President, Micheal Blueford; Vice President, Krista
Demarest; Recording Secretary, Trudi Young
and Corresponding
Secretary/Newsletter/Publicity, Kara Werner. A very attractive pool of volunteers are lead
by committee heads Orchestra Member at Large, Karen Weaver; Uniforms Co-chairs,
Shelly Clay and Gail Smith; Volunteer
Coordinator, Kim McAllaster; Concession
- Co-Chairs, Kevin & Crystal Bushman and Anton Stark; Chaperones Coordinator, Carol Langley; Fund raising Coordinator, Christel
Arnold and Meijer Rewards Coordinator, Rich Werner.
The Lakeview High School Band and Orchestra Boosters have,
since 1978, sponsored fundraisers to offset approximately 50% of the school
district's expense for the new Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Wind
Ensemble and Orchestra uniforms and dress.
This year, when the Marching Band increased by 30 members, BOB picked up
the total cost of the additional uniforms (approximately $700 per uniform)
until the school district could find available monies to pay for 50% of the
cost. BOB also offset approximately 50%
of district's expense for new instruments, instrument repairs and new
equipment.
In addition to enabling the purchase of uniforms,
instruments and equipment, BOB provides needed monies, in the form of
scholarships, to assist students, LHS faculty and voluntaries, to participate
in sponsored activities, including Band Camp, Drum Major Camp, competitions and
trips. This year alone, BOB have
provided over $5000 in scholarship monies so that students, faculty and
voluntaries could participate in sponsored events that enhanced the student's
musicianship.
Many Band and Orchestra activities, uniform purchase,
instrument purchase and repairs would not have happened without the hard work
of the members and friends of BOB.
And now with the help of "Steven and Michael - The Mirror Images", performing their amazing
cutting-edge illusion show, the BOB is not only offering to the community an intimate
evening of magic and illusions but also providing a new way of raising monies
to help defray the cost of finances for students.
This action packed show will include a spectacular array of
entertainment featuring a creative display of intelligent lighting, artistic
dances, and original cutting edge magic and illusions.
